Transitions for the New Year.

I will be transitioning by TBR List and readathon stuff to my other blog: Teacher's Pet to Teacher. I feel it will work for my teacher blog - especially since I read a bunch of YA books and my age group will be middle school. I wanted to talk books with so many of the kids during my in-class observations. They were reading all sorts of things I had read or wanted to read.

Fortune Favors will stay, but will fade out of existence pretty much... I don't want to delete it, but it will no longer be active after my last Series Challenge post at the first of the year.

I also food blog - which is my baby - Fantastical Sharing of Recipes...and more! Once I have Mason, I'll probably blog regular updates on him there for Fantastical Fridays...so be sure to follow :)

December TBR List & Upcoming Releases

I finally feel like I'm back on track with reading. I finished 8 books last month and I haven't done that in so long. I'm hoping to keep my momentum up. I really haven't read more than usual necessarily. I still am only reading primarily at night before bed, but I've been able to read more than just a chapter or just a page :)

November TBR List & Upcoming Releases

I finally made some headway in my massive TBR pile last month. I finished 5 books, made it halfway through another that I ended up DNF. I also made plans for all of next year's TBR. Which really consists of repeating this year's...kind of. I'm going to choose 2 books from my monthly leftover lists (they are separated by color below), 1 book from a series, and 1 new book. I mean I'm in the middle of like 64 series (I somehow have added 10 to the list) and I would also love to still read books that I'm excited about when they actually release. I won't be posting here on FF though, but instead on Teacher's Pet to Teacher.

Seriously Series 2014 Update #3

Update #3: My July through September progress

Reading the Paranormal - 2014 Seriously Series Reading Challenge

My reading has significantly dropped off in the last little section of this year for this update. My book count in June was 21 of the books below. I've read 6 more books and added a few more series to my list down there. I'm hoping for a strong finish for this year. I'd at least like to see half my list done.

My goals:
  • Series started before 2014: Seriously Spectacular Series Star (18+ series). I want to make a dent in the 56 series in 2014. I'm aiming for 20. I may add some if I can finish. - completed 9/20
  • Series started in 2014: Seriously Serious (7-12 series). I can't help but start new ones :) - completed 1/10
  • Series rereads: Semi-Serious (1-6 series). I plan to reread 3 series this year already, so that's perfect. - completed 0/3

October TBR List + Upcoming Releases

So last month I talked about how I was probably going to keep this same list for next year's TBR and I've basically already drafted that up. The different highlighted colors are the different months. I only managed to read one book last month (11/22/63 by Stephen King), but it was a whopping 866 pages long, so I call that a success. This month I will be busy for the first half with college stuff and then it'll taper off hopefully. But then again we may end up moving when my school stuff tapers off. So I don't foresee a lot of free time to just read. By the end of the day, I'm also completely exhausted and don't feel like reading - pregnancy will do that to you!

Bout of Books 11.0: Goals

Bout of Books

For my 8th BOB readathon...I'm really not expecting much. I do want to read...and finish one book, but I will also be in school for in-class observation 3 days next week, plus doing substitute teacher orientation, plus possibly taking a course exam. If I can do 1 book. I'll be golden.

So my goals are to:
  • Read a little every day
  • Finish 1 book, make a significant dent in a 2nd
  • Participate in a few challenges

August TBR List + Upcoming Releases

Surprisingly I've read a lot more than I typically read and I've nearly caught up with all my overdue NetGalley books. In fact, I only have 6 on my reading list. 5 of which are some I've been approved for in the last month - score! And my rating is like 75%. I kind of haven't been sticking with my TBR as much as I would like. My goal is to try and read at least half of this month's books and maybe 2 or 3 others. I'm participating in Bout of Books #11 - my favorite readathon! So hopefully I'll fit in a few extra this month with the readathon motivation :)
